Fairy Tail New Season 9

← Previous The ninth and final season of the series was directed by Shinji Ishihara and produced by,. Like the rest of the series, it follows the adventures of and of the fictional guild Fairy Tail. The season adapts the remaining volumes of the Fairy Tail manga by, beginning with the last chapter of its 49th volume.

The thirteenth issue of 2014 Weekly Shonen Magazine announced on March 5, 2014 that the new Fairy Tail anime series would start on April 5, 2014 at 10:30 AM on TV Tokyo. On March 22, 2016, Mashima and the anime team announced through Twitter that the current anime, Fairy Tail (2014), will end on March 26, 2016 after 102 episodes.

The first continues from the final two episodes of, where Natsu, Lucy, and embark on a journey to reorganize their disbanded guild. The second arc focuses on the guild's war with the militaristic Alvarez Empire, culminating with Natsu's final battle with the dark wizard Zeref and the evil dragon Acnologia. On July 20, 2017, announced on that a third and 'final' series of Fairy Tail would air in 2018. The final season premiered on October 7, 2018 on, and is simultaneously released by with a broadcast dub in North America. The anime contains four pieces of theme music: two opening themes and two ending themes. For episodes 278 to 290, the first opening theme is 'Power of the Dream', performed by, and the ending theme is 'Endless Harmony', performed by Beverly.
